Hambabauran (officially Barangay Hambabauran) is one of the 44 barangays constituting the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.
The barangay's total land area is approximately 512[2] and has a population of 962[3]as of 2007. In the last 2010 National election, it has 559[4]registered voters.
Barangay Hambabauran celebrates its annual fiesta every January 15 in honor of their patron saint.

Located on the western part of the municipality, barangay Hambabauran is bounded by barangay Camali-an and Pag-asa to the north. It is bounded by the municipality of San Miguel to the west, to the south, by barangay Gabi, and to the east by barangay Lomangog. It has approximate distance of 12 km from the town center, Poblacion.
In the beginning, the name of the place is Sitio Barrio Site, which then a part of barangay Bay-ang. In 1965 it was proposed to become a separate barrio during the time of Eugenio Caduldulan as Teniente del Barrio. Three years later, a barangay election held. At that time, Barrio Site was supposed to be changed into Hambabauran and it was submitted to the Province for approval.
On August 2, 1968, Barangay Hambabauran was finally approved as one of the Barangays in the municipality of Ubay. Thus, Barrio Site was totally changed its name to Barangay Hambabauran, which named after Hambabaud trees.
Many years had passed when the hambabaud trees vanished, but this tree is always inculculated in the people's mind in Hambabauran, for it is the legend of their place, now a barangay.
There are seven puroks or units in the barangay manned by the elected kagawads including the Punong Barangay or Barangay chairman.
We envision a peaceful, progressive and productive Barangay and its healthy and balance environment that is clean and orderly with adequate infrastructure facilities and technlogical dvances geared towards increase agricultural productivity.
We commit ourselves as service provider in the community through a proper implementation of Rules and Laws in the Barangay, in order to achieve our goals for the welfare of our people.
People in the barangay are mostly farmers live by planting rice, camote, cassava, banana, and other vegetables. Some have small lots of agricultural land. A portion of population also weaves mats, produce palm oil and coconut products.
